Cooperation with the U.N. Center, Prague

The United Nations Information Center in Prague has prepared a photographic competition for the pupils of primary schools: “Do you know how we live at home?”
Pupils from selected schools will be provided with disposable cameras and their task will be to capture the life of their family or the families of their schoolmates. The results of their work will be presented at the beginning of September during an official opening of the United Nations House in Prague, at the time of the World Conference Against Racism.
The Stories Exchange Project has been invited to take part in the U.N. competition to accompany the preview of the exhibition and the following tour with its stories.
A number of stories from our students’ contributions will be selected. The authors will be invited to the preview of the exhibition and will have a chance to read them.
We are negotiating for a few days’ stay at the United Nations European Center in Geneva for the author of the best story.
The competition will increase different nationalities’ understanding of each other, and will present the schoolchildren’s opinions about intolerance and racial hatred.
